Molly Roberts, M.D., M.S., President
Molly M. Roberts, M.D., M.S. ("Dr. Molly") is an Integrative Holistic Physician with the Institute for Health & Healing, both in Marin County and San Francisco. She is triply Board-certified in Family Medicine, Nutritional Medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine and specializes in Mind/Body/Spirit Medicine, Nutritional/Functional Medicine, Women’s Health and Family/Relationship/Sexuality Counseling. In April 2012, she was elected as vice chairperson of the Integrative Medical Consortium (IMC), a collaborating group of national physician organizations dedicated to making integrative medicine the standard of care. She will become the chairperson of IMC beginning spring 2013.
In her previous career as a psychotherapist, she obtained her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling & Vocational Evaluation from the University of Arizona, with further Ph.D. work in Rehabilitation Psychology. Dr. Roberts obtained her medical degree and completed a Family Practice residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Her published books include Blackwell Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Fast Facts for Medical Practice and The Individual Optimal Nutrition Handbook. She has additional certification in both Mind/Body/Spirit Medicine and Shamanic Breathwork™ and is ordained as an interfaith minister. Her previous work was with the Canyon Ranch Health Resort in Tucson, Ariz., as well as having been the former Co-Founder and CEO of LightHearted Medicine with her husband, Bruce Roberts, M.D.

David Riley, M.D., At Large
David Riley received his undergraduate degree in Music and Psychology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1976. Prior to attending medical school he worked as a musician and chef in Europe and the United States. He has worked and traveled extensively in North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
He graduated from the University of Utah medical school, is board certified in Internal Medicine, and has received post-graduate training in a variety of complementary therapies including homeopathy, yoga, cranial osteopathy, nutrition, and herB.A.l medicine. He is a clinical associate professor at the University of New Mexico medical school, has written chapters for a variety of medical textbooks, worked as an editor for the WHO from 2003-07, and been the editor-in-chief of two leading indexed medical journals in Integrative Medicine, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine and EXPLORE-The Journal of Science and Healing from 1995 through 2007.
His primary interest throughout his career in medicine has been to improve patient care through the implementation of Integrative Medicine-combining the best of conventional and complementary medicine.
Dr. Riley has conducted or managed more than 50 clinical trials since 1992 ranging from international practice-B.A.sed research networks to randomized controlled clinical trials to homeopathic drug provings. He has been a member of the CONSORT group and worked on systematic reviews with the Chalmer’s Research Group in Ottawa, Canada. In 1998 Dr. Riley founded Southwest Health Options, an independent practice association (IPA) managing the delivery of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for insured patients where he developed credentialing standards, managed peer review and coordinated service utilization. He has also worked on the development of coding solutions for Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Riley has consulted with regulatory agencies and international agencies in the United States and Europe including the FDA and the BfArM, ECHAMP, the WHO, and DHCC. He is a board member of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, a technical advisory body to the FDA. Dr. Riley is a member of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Advisory Council for Dubai Healthcare City and led a steering committee that developed guidelines for licensure of twelve groups of complementary and alternative medicine providers. He has been on the scientific advisory boards of numerous academic centers, healthcare agencies and corporations.
Dr. Riley lectures and consults internationally on a range of healthcare issues including healthcare policy and regulation, education and research, and issues surrounding integrative medicine. He is married and currently lives in Santa Fe, N.M.

Doug Moore, PhD, NE OH Chapter President
Doug Moore, Ph.D. has been a psychologist and life-coach for over 25 years and is one of the founders of the Cleveland Center for Conscious Living. He is on the faculty at the Eden Energy Medicine Certification Program and is an adjunct assistant clinical professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Moore currently serves as the president of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of AHMA.
Dr. Moore is an avid explorer in the ways we balance and integrate the heart, mind, body and energy. He integrates traditional psychological methods with the practice of mindfulness, the wisdom of the Enneagram, and the application of Energy Medicine and Energy Psychology. This holistic blend helps those challenged by anxieties and depression in addition to those who seek to foster their personal, professional and spiritual development. Dr. Moore works with adults, couples, and organizations, and enjoys conducting various workshops and groups that promote personal transformation, professional development and spiritual awareness.

Barbara Bakus, DO, ABIHM, President-Elect and Treasurer
Judith Balk, M.D.
Dr. Judith Balk holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Master’s of Public Health and is a board-certified gynecologist who has completed specialty training in various aspects of integrative medicine. Her goal is to integrate Western medicine with complementary approaches such as nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction.
Dr. Balk is also board certified by the American Board of Holistic Medicine and completed acupuncture training and using acupuncture in her women’s health practice for over eight years. Dr. Balk has been a reviewer for the NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine study section for the past eight years, and is an oral board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is currently a faculty member at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine and is the medical director of the Holistic Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in addition to being the program director for the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Research Center.

Jennifer Blair, LAc, MaOM
Jennifer holds a masters degree in Oriental Medicine from the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University. She is NCCAOM certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology, and holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also holds a Certificate in Therapeutic Coaching from the Meta Institute and is trained in NLP, hypnosis, guided imagery and qi gong. Her approach to practice combines the most appropriate of these tools for each patient. In addition to her work at Abbott, Jennifer serves on the adjunct faculty at the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University. Whether working with students or patients, education is at the root of Jennifer’s approach to Chinese medicine. Her goal is to help each individual she works with to unlock their own abilities and insights for self-healing. She is an active member of the Acupuncture and O.M. community in the Twin Cities and has served as legislative Chair and Vice President for the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association of Minnesota.

Kim Salinger, MSN, FNP, MBA, RN, RRT
Kim Salinger is a Family Nurse Practitioner, providing holistic care that emphasizes integration of mind, body, and spirit for women and children . She is dedicated to being a life-long learner, and as such has earned a Masters of Science in Nursing from Sonoma State University in California, a Masters of Arts in Psychology from Meridian University in California, and a Masters of Business Administration from Marylhurst University in Oregon. She has been in healthcare since 1992 and holds additional training and certification in Spirituality, Health and Healing, Lactation Consulting, and additional licensing as a public health nurse and registered respiratory therapist.
Kim initially became interested in holistic and alternative medicine and lifestyles in 1995 while living in Portland, Ore. Upon becoming a mom in 2004, she experienced a profound shift in perspective that compelled her interest in holism to the forefront. She has since made holistic living a priority and has been involved in holistic and integrative medicine and lifestyles ever since.
Previously, her career had been focused on critical care and trauma response, as well as clinical and academic education. She has served as a clinical educator for Stanford Hospital and Clinics, The Palo Alto Veterans Administration Medical Center, and as an adjunct professor for San Joaquin Valley College. Kim is also a past Vice-President of the California Board for Respiratory Care and a former member of the Marin County Mental Health Board.
Kim and her husband share a passion for travel, experiencing different cultures, and visiting ancient sites. They strive to live a balanced, holistic lifestyle in beautiful Marin County, Calif., with their school-age daughter, two cats, one dog and a handful of backyard chickens.

Bill Welches, DO
Bill Welches is an osteopathic physician with board certification in family practice medicine and has specialized expertise in osteopathic manipulation. Dr. Welches has a PhD in biochemistry and was a Research Scientist for a number of years before returning to medical school. His area of specialty is pain management., and uses osteopathic manipulation along with several programs including diet therapy and counseling, to help patients better manage their pain. Dr. Welches' techniques and programs are integrated with those of his colleagues in the Pain Management Department to provide patients with comprehensive treatment.
